Clever Cloud is a French PaaS provider that automates application deployment and scaling across European infrastructure. Rather than owning data centers, Clever Cloud operates its platform on top of sovereign European providers including Cloud Temple (SecNumCloud-qualified), OVHcloud, Scaleway, and IONOS. Regions span Paris, northern France, and London. The company employs roughly 75 people and serves over 1,000 business customers. The platform supports a wide range of runtimes: Java, Node.js, PHP, Python, Ruby, Go, Rust, .NET, and Docker containers. Managed database options include PostgreSQL (with PGPool II), MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and Elasticsearch. Key differentiators are automatic auto-scaling, per-second billing, immutable infrastructure, and zero-downtime blue/green deployments. Clever Cloud also offers an on-premises edition for organizations that need the platform inside their own environments. Clever Cloud holds ISO 27001:2022 certification and accesses SecNumCloud through its Cloud Temple partnership. It joined CISPE in February 2024 and has been a Gaia-X member from the outset. The company is also a founding member of Euclidia, the European cloud industry alliance. Revenue is estimated between $6 million and $12 million annually. Application hosting starts from approximately €1 to €5 per month.
